For those starting their journey into the world of Scotch Whisky, selecting the right malt can sometimes be confusing and downright intimidating. However, a great starting point is choosing the right #whiskyglass. A good choice there would be to choose the world’s favorite glass for those who know whiskies of all types - The Glencairn Glass. This is the glass designed and owned by our friends at Glencairn Crystal that was created to help us enjoy all the character and all the subtle nuances of our favorite tipple.
And while there may be plenty to learn about the many great distilleries from Scotland when you are beginning, we’ve found a great article from Distiller.com to steer you in the right direction. Here’s a link to their article on great "beginner" Scotch whiskies to start your education with: https://distiller.com/articles/our-favorite-beginner-scotch-whisky-picks Meanwhile, while you may worry about the choosing the right whisky, you should never worry about the glass you drink it from. Choose wisely. Choose Glencairn. Both you - and your guests - will be glad you did. More smiles on more faces. #BornInFire #StoelzleForLife
There are a great many whiskies that come from, literally, all corners of the globe. But, when you hear the term “single malt whisky” the first thought is of Scotland as the origin. However, the Whisky Advocate magazine just published a terrific story on the growing emergence of American Single Malt Whiskeys. In their story, writer Ted Simmons offers up several examples what’s available and how different American single malt whiskeys can be.
Here’s a link to the story: https://www.whiskyadvocate.com/7-distinctive-american-single-malt-whiskeys-to-try-now/ The good news is that no matter what part of the world you choose your whisky from, we have a variety of #bestinclass whisky glasses to drink it from. With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching here in America, choosing a good wine to pair with your meal should not be complicated. Nor should it require a host to be a certified sommelier. And, it doesn’t have to be particularly expensive. Just like our #wineglass collection, we much prefer our wines to be #approachable. So, if you don’t happen to be a certified sommelier (and even if you are), we recommend that same path when selecting your holiday wines. This will allow you to concentrate more on enjoying your guests rather than worrying about whether or not you have chosen the ultimately perfect wines. That’s why we were excited to see that Oprah Daily recently published a great article showcasing 20 very approachable wines to accompany your Turkey Day meal. And, most of the wines they selected come in at under the $20 price point and a few slightly over $10. That's nice. Here’s the link to their story: https://www.oprahdaily.com/life/g29378327/best-thanksgiving-wines/
In a recent article, the website HiConsumption.com offers up The 15 Best Rye Whiskeys to Drink Neat in 2021. Author Grady Van Dyke gives his views on the current state of the rye whiskey category, how a rye whiskey differs from a bourbon and his opinions on some pretty darn good rye whiskeys. Now, the term “best whiskey” is always going to be the starting ground for good, friendly debates. But there can be no debate when it comes to the best whiskey glassware. The Stölzle lineup of glassware is simply unmatched at raising the flavor profile of our favorite whiskeys to be their very best. So, as the holidays approach, make sure you are serving your guests well. Great whiskeys, served in great glassware. And always enjoyed by great guests. Cheers!
More smiles on more faces. #BornInFire #StoelzleForLife Recently, the noted British wine writer for The Guardian newspaper, Fiona Beckett extolled the pleasures of migrating to bigger, richer reds as the nights grow longer and the temperatures begin to drop. Beckett shares her love for some of her favorite values from local UK supermarket stores. As the clocks change and the leaves fall from the trees, we have to agree with that sentiment of seeking out great value reds to add to the cooler, crispier evenings. Lately, our favorites are coming more and more from Spain and seem to be primarily Tempranillo or Tempranillo blends.
