Table culture not only has a big tradition, but is today part of our lifestyle that leads to a feeling of well-being. Stolzle Lausitz glasses are the automatic perfect contribution to the culture of drinking wine or having a cocktail. The brand Stolzle stands for innovation and quality: lead free crystalline glass, brilliance, highly durable and dishwasher safe (certificate for 1,000 rinse cycles) as well as an ideal price/quality ratio.
Stolzle Lausitz GmbH is one of the few glass manufacturers who have mastered the manufacturing process to produce a one piece stem and bowl. The result is machine made glasses with the features and elegance of mouth-blown glassware - like the lines Quatrophil, and Experience. Not only do you discard the unsightly joint lines but more importantly produce a far stronger glass. This is particularly important to the consumer industry, where durability is as important as the design aesthetic.
Stolzle provides both design and functionality equally. Click on the catalog below for more information on Stolzle for the home.

5 Quick Questions for Mark Roland, VP Sales – Retail & Consumer

Mark, where do you call home?
I'm a 5th generation Bostonian and we moved to a seacoast town north of Boston at an early age, Newburyport, Mass. I married, settled there and spent most of my life there. Newburyport has a wealth of history and is deep into the fishing and boat building industries. Another industry that the city of Newburyport was noted for, starting as far back as the 1690's, was silversmithing. That's where I started my business journey - working at Towle Silversmiths, starting in sales and ending up as Vice President. Now, the city of Newburyport was restored in the 1970's back to it's original architecture from the 17-1800's. And, now, with all its re-found charm and surrounded by the ocean, Newburyport has become a premiere destination for tourism.
And, how about your background? Can you tell us about some of the stops you've had along your journey in this industry?
As I said, I started my career after college with the original Towle Silversmiths in the sales area. Then, after many years there, I was recruited to join Royal Doulton China as their National Sales Manager where I spent 5 years learning and understanding the dinnerware side of our business. I returned back to Towle as their Vice President of Sales and 5 years later, the company was sold. Soon after that, I was accepted a position with the German company WMF as their Managing Director for North America. All this, along with assisting a few other smaller cutlery and glass companies along the way. I've been with Stolzle now for the past 2 years and absolutely have fallen in love!
Why is having the great glassware important to the beverage experience?
First of all, the glass you use truly matters. Depending on the beverage of choice, I believe the shape, the size and composition of the drinking vessel you select to use is very important to the overall experience. A great wine glass, when chosen correctly, will enhance the taste of certain wines, whether they may be white or red. The same is true when it comes to cocktails and spirits, with both the shape and the size of the spirits glass enhancing the taste and, most importantly, the overall experience of your favorite beverage.
Why makes Stolzle glassware unique?
To start with, Stolzle is a glass manufacturer, not a sourcing company. Additionally, we make 100% of our glassware in Germany, where we are well-known for our glass quality. Stolzle has won many awards on innovation in products and its methods of producing its top-quality glassware. Recently, the company invested nearly $40.0 million into high-tech, state-of-the-art equipment. Stolzle is one of the only companies that manufactures their wine glasses with a one-piece, drawn stem which gives each glass a higher level of durability. In 1991, Stolzle became the largest glass producers in Germany and today the company produces over 50 million glasses a year. The beauty of the unique shapes, with the impeccable clarity and the pronounced durability of Stolzle glassware is known throughout the world.
What is your favorite Stolzle glassware collection?
I have two (ok, maybe three!) favorites in the Stolzle glassware product offerings. For wine, I love our Experience wine glass series. It's simple, yet functional shape and Experience has the perfect sizes for me to enjoy my favorite wines. For spirits I actually have two favorites. Naturally, our Glencairn glass - nice to hold, ideal for seeing the spirits in the bowl of the glass and it really seems to enhance the taste. The other favorite is our Nic & Nora glass. A visit back to the roaring 20"s and prohibition makes a cocktail a classy event that's enjoyed by all it's participants.
