Stolzle: Great Glassware, But So Much More

4/26/2021

Picture
Often, we think everyone knows exactly who we are and how our great glassware products are made. And, then, every once in a while we get reminded that there are many people who are still learning of who the Stolzle brand really is and what we really stand for.

First of all and at our most basic level, we are a German glassware brand and we can trace our roots back more than 130+ years. We produce lead-free crystal glass in Germany, deliver more than 40 million glasses per year, including a great variety of stemware ranges, several tumbler ranges and some decanter, jug and carafe ranges, to both retail and hospitality.

We are also one of the few glass manufacturers in the world that have mastered the manufacturing process to produce a one-piece stem and bowl (pulled stem). The result are machine-made wine glasses with the features and elegance of mouth-blown glassware. The Stolzle brand is widely known for innovation and quality, delivering glasses with a clear sound, a thin rim, brilliant clarity in 100 per cent lead-free glass that is durable and dishwasher-resistant.

Some 80 per cent of our glassware range is exported globally, with large export markets including the US, UK, Southeast Asia, Central Europe and Australia. The Stolzle brand’s customer base includes retail, wholesale and hospitality, with Germany the main retail audience. Hospitality is our largest export market, including restaurants, hotels, catering, airlines and vintners, with such renowned clients including Marriott Hotels and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

In addition to a wide range of standard products, we also offer customization on every item, including techniques like sandblasting and silk-screen printing, and works with customers to create bespoke shapes.

But, Stolzle is much more than simply a factory that produces great, hi-performance glassware. We are a company that believes in providing products that helps improve the human connection that we all seek with others. Rather than simply sell glassware, we like to think that we sell smiles, as well. Happy people enjoying life just a little bit better because of the overall quality, the attention to detail and the performance that all of that means to all who use our products.

In addition, at Stolzle, we want our products to be thought of as approachable. Meaning that if your preference is higher-end, more premium wines and spirits, we have many great options for you in stemware, barware and accessories. If you prefer a more casual level of beverage experience, we have glassware for you that still delivers a great experience while retaining a more practical, everyday level of performance.

And, finally, at so many levels, the Stolzle brand is about people. First of all, we are all about the people who enjoy our products, that is for sure. But also, we are also all about the very talented artisans in Weiswasser, Germany who create our products and help us continue our great legacy of quality and performance.

Then, there is the wide variety of global partners and employees who help us get the products to our customers all around the world. Our relationships with these global partners are critical to making sure that the Stolzle brand stays close to its customer base and always listens to what those customers have to say.

So, while it’s true that our factories have been producing great, hi-performance glassware for more than 130 years. But please know that, at Stolzle, there’s so much more to us than great glassware!

Setting The Standard for Quality & Value for 130+ Years

3/30/2021

Before any of our glassware can leave our factory, it must pass the rigorous standards of our experienced professional colleagues. And, as you may have guessed, they are as passionate about our quality levels as you are. It's been that way for over 130+ years.

Be sure to check out the video on our homepage that shows a bit about our history and how we instill quality and value into every piece of glassware we make.

Stolzle For Life: It All Starts with The Guest

Our Experience Collection
When we speak about the concept of “Stolzle For Life” it all starts with our guest or the consumer.

Whenever a beverage is enjoyed from a Stolzle glass, we want that beverage, that overall experience, to be truly an enjoyable and memorable experience. Studies have shown that drinking wine in moderation improves the overall quality of life. At Stolzle, we want that life to be the best that it can be. That is the reason that we design performance into every glass we make.

Making high-performance glassware requires both a talented design group and an equally talented manufacturing team for the critical execution of the performance-oriented designs. At Stolzle, we utilize our 130+ years of glassware manufacturing knowledge and experience to make sure that each glass shape delivers on its all of its promises.
Picture
A great example is our Experience collection. Originally, the range was designed initially a riesling-specific range with four glasses, covering the variety of tastes of this special type of wine. However, the design and functionality of these glasses proved to be so excellent that many people did not want to waive the overall performance and special experience with other types of wine. Therefore, the originally-named Riesling collection was extended and re-named Experience. Experience is still today the number one choice for Riesling lovers.

While delivering on performance, the machine pulled stem design of Experience both impresses with its elegant, stylish shape and its elevated levels of functionality. Today, our Experience collection has expanded and now includes a full range of stemmed wine glasses and a variety of tumblers to match.

Performance, plus style and functionality – a winning combination that has always been a part of the Stolzle Glassware tradition.

Approachable. Affordable. Available.

Jay Allie: Stolzle For Life

12/23/2020

Stolzle has been designing and producing great crystal glassware for more than 130 years. During that time, besides producing a line of high-quality, high-performance glassware we have also attempted to manage our business in such a way as to always make sure our activities served the end customer.

Once we connected with either a great restaurant, a great hotel or a consumer who would use our glassware in their home, we have strived to ensure that we exceed their expectations. For us at Stolzle, exceeding expectations means both in service and in the performance of our products.

Whether the customer is large or small has never mattered – we have always made strong efforts to satisfy their requirements to keep that bond for life – hence the moniker “Stolzle for Life.”

“First for us is the quality of our products. We produce world-class glassware products so our products always must meet a high standard for quality,” says Jay Allie, Stolzle Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing. “But we are also very diligent about providing great service to our customers, both big and small. And, for us, that service continues after the purchase. If a customer believes they have a ‘problem’, there is no problem – we take care of it immediately. We want our customers to stay with us for life.”

The theme of “Stolzle for Life” also extends to our network of distribution partners and sales representatives. No matter the channel of distribution, our goal is always constant communication, mutual trust and support to those supply chain partners to better understand their needs so that we can ultimately continue to satisfy the end customer.

“Whether it a hospitality salesperson who is representing us or a retailer who is stocking our glassware,” continued Allie. “It is important to us that we have great cooperation up and down the line. Our philosophy of ‘Stolzle for Life’ is important here also. Strong partnerships with our sales and distribution partners is a priority for us.”

And certainly “Stolzle for Life” resonates to all who use our products whether in a restaurant, a vineyard or in their home. Our goal is always to help people enhance their lives and their connections with family and friends over a great beverage.

At Stolzle, we strongly believe that people are deeply hardwired to connect with other people. Additionally, we believe that this connection happens best over great food and great beverage.

Therefore, at Stolzle, we want to always enable better and more frequent connections by creating great glassware and beverage serving products that elevate and enhance the times we get together.

Our priority at Stolzle is to continue to create world-class, high-performance glassware that is approachable, affordable, and available throughout the world.
