Our Prestige Spirits Group Takes Home Another Award

7/29/2021

Picture
The winners of the German Packaging Award 2021 were announced on July 27th and our company's overall expertise in glassware continues to shine through.

The premium liquor bottle 4X50 R.N.P. Superior Premium Rum, which is manufactured by Stoelzle, was honored for its successful overall concept in the design & processing category. In their judgment, the jury agreed that both the glass bottle and the outer carton box underline perfectly the product’s value and also score points with the sustainability of the materials used.

Here's the jury evaluation had to say:
"This noble rum bottle made of solid white glass in perfect brilliance impresses with a luxurious leather label that runs in the recess provided from the front label field over the bottom to the back of the bottle. The noble brass closure rounds off the high-quality appearance. The rum bottle is produced fully automatically and stands out due to its unique broad-shouldered bottle shape, which creates a masculine presence according to the target group. A special recycled cardboard was chosen for the outer packaging, which gives an idea of the shape of the bottle."
Congratulations to our Prestige Spirits Group.

STOELZLE GLASS GROUP: Winner of the Styrian TRIGOS sustainability award

6/10/2021

Stoelzle Oberglas wins the Styrian TRIGOS sustainability award
  • Winner in the category “climate protection”
  • Winning project “Prestige recycling glass” saves around 16% CO2
  • Environmental and climate protection strategically anchored in the glass group
On June 7th TRIGOS REGIONAL STEIERMARK Awards ceremony 2021 took place in Graz. Stoelzle Oberglas resulted winner in the climate protection category for its prestige recycling glass project. The jury based its judgment on the successful implementation of a holistic sustainability strategy and highlighted the “Green Knowledge” initiative, too.

Birgit Schalk, Sustainability Manager at the Stoelzle Glass Group, is glad that the winning project “Prestige Recycling Glass” has gained such significant recognition: “The challenge is to continuously improve the energy-intensive process of glass production AND at the same time keeping the glass quality at a consistently high level. With our new batch formula, we have closed the gap between the highest quality and sustainability and have been producing brilliant, color-stable white glass with at least 20% PCR since autumn 2020, which saves 20% of natural raw materials, 4% energy and around 16% CO2. Accompanied by a quality assurance concept to maintain the high-quality glass color, we are now working on both gradually increasing the cullet content and further optimizing the glass color and batch. "
The jury also underlined the importance of the Stoelzle initiative "Green Knowledge", which was launched in autumn 2020 as part of the Stoelzle Academy: In six virtual workshops, more than 100 interested Stoelzle employees learned from external lecturers with regard to the topic of "Climate Change - Myth, Risks and Opportunities”.
