The Charleston Wine + Food festival is generally considered to be one of America’s best wine and food festivals bringing chefs, winemakers, beverage professionals, musicians, artisans, and experts from around the globe for five flavorful days.
This year, the festival brought nearly 11,000 people together in early March and Stolzle was right in the middle of all the action with our booth set up in The Culinary Village which is the heart of the festival.
This is where the festival holds its chef demos, wine tastings, beer and spirits samplings, live music, unique shopping experiences, and much, much more.
Dave Turner, Editor from the hospitality publication TabletopJournal came to town recently to do an interview with Stolzle's Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, Jay Allie. The interview was conducted at a great neighborhood restaurant - and Stolzle customer - The Paddock on Market.
During the interview, Jay offered up his take on Stolzle's ability to have great wine glasses for all levels and all types of restaurants.
Here's a little of what Jay had to say:
With 70 Years of Tradition with Innovative American Fare, The Paddock on Market provides a legendary experience that can only be matched by its Fantastic Menu. From our Classic Chesapeake Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, Fresh Cut Angus Steaks, Made to Order Pasta Sautee’s and Salads, and Our Famous “House-Made” Onion Rings. At The Paddock on Market in York, Pennsylvania they provide something for everyone.
The Spanos Family’s commitment of Community, Excellence, and Stewardship continues through keeping ingredients local, Farm-to-Table, as well as boasting a draft selection of sixteen Classic and Seasonal Craft Brews - along with a great selection of delicious and approachable wines from a variety of regions.

Recently, the Sommelier Society of America celebrated the final classes before the holiday hiatus with Director of Education Rudiger Eilers (above) giving students an allocation of Stolzle Glassware. Classes start up again for the organization in early January with the final exam set for Feb 11th. Kristy MacDonald, sommelier at famed Chef Thomas Keller's Per Se NY was the instructor for the evening.
With a legacy dating back to 1954, the Sommelier Society of America today is a locus for top-notch wine education courses in New York City. Unlike other certification programs, the SSA course is designed for serious wine professionals who want to study the trade in one of the most thrilling and eclectic wine markets in the world.
Stolzle USA is proud of its relationship with the Sommelier Society of America and looks forward to continuing to support their efforts in wine education.
A great whiskey deserves a great glass!
